Fellowship Groups

Presbyterian Women- Harvey Browne PW meet in Circles for small group discussion on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, September through May. Four groups meet at Harvey Browne in different locations at the church. Two groups meet at 10:30 AM, one at 11:30 AM, and one at 6:00 PM. Each group will be studying the same lesson. HBQuilters-Whether you are an experienced quilter or wanting to learn a new skill, HBQuilters would love to have you. The group meets to fellowship, work on individual projects and collaborate on group projects the first and third Thursday of each month from 9am-12:00pm in room 209. Sewing machines are available for use at each meeting and seasoned quilters are always open to assisting newer members with learning.

Lectionary Bible Study- Join Rev. Christine Coy Fohr in studying the scripture readings for the coming Sunday. Each week, we gather to learn and share, exploring how God’s word meets us in our daily lives. This group meets Wednesdays from 6:15—7:00 in the Session Room. Midday Prayers- Join us for a time of fellowship, discussion, and prayer every Wednesday at 1:00pm via Zoom. The zoom link can be found in the weekly Highlights email or contact the church office.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast- You’re invited to come out on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9:00 AM for a time of food and fellowship. We will have donuts and different speakers each month.

Music Ministry

Chancel Handbells- This multigenerational ensemble (middle school—adult) rehearses on Wednesday nights, 6:00—7:00pm, in the sanctuary. They offer music multiple times each year. Anyone interested in ringing with this ensemble, please let Tim Baker know at kewlpipes2@gmail.com, or show up to rehearsal.

Children’s Music Ministry- This year, our children’s choirs have new names and age groups! Our Lyric Choir will be for our Kindergarten—2nd graders. Our Westminster Choir will be for 3rd—7th graders. Chancel Choir- is open to all who would like to be a part of a choral ensemble that provides weekly music for our 10:30 Sunday service and other special programs throughout the year. Orchestra- Harvey Browne’s Church Orchestra plays periodically throughout the year and is open to anyone with skills in reading and playing music. The Orchestra prepares an opening voluntary for worship and accompanies the hymns. Rehearsals are on Sunday morning at 8:45 in the Sanctuary. Children, Youth, and Family Events

HBTweens A gathering for our children in 3rd—5th grade. This group gathers at the church for study and fellowship. Throughout the year special activities will be planned. Contact Katherine Kupar at katherine@hbpres.net

HBYouth- Our HBYouth program offers weekly gatherings for our middle and high school youth. They meet Sunday nights from 4:00—5:30. Lock-ins, outings, conferences, and mission trips happen throughout the year. Contact Renata DeWees at renata@hbpres.net

Adult Sunday School

  • HB University- A lecture-based class covering various topics in Christian faith and living. Class meets in room 208.
  • Sharing Our Journey- A discussion-based class using the Follow Me curriculum of the Presbyterian Publishing Company. Class meets in the Living room.
  • FRIENDS- The FRIENDS class is a discussion-based class for folks who grew up while the show “FRIENDS” was in the height of its popularity. This class studies various topics throughout the church year while also making space for sharing joys, challenges, and questions as they arise in peoples’ lives. Exercise Programs

Yoga – a small group class focused on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses. Come to learn, play, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. Classes are free, donations are accepted. All levels welcome. Meets every Sunday from 4-5:00pm in the Session Room.  Contact Betsy Barrick at embarrick@gmail.com

5,000 Steps- this low impact dance class is designed to help participants break a sweat and have fun while reaching half their daily step goal during the one-hour class. Classes are free, donations are accepted. Classes meet on Wednesday at 10am in Eline Hall and Saturday at 10am in Emory Hall. Contact Maggie Chilton at mcwarbler@yahoo.com

Pickleball- a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. A time to meet new people, exercise and have fun. Free and open to all. We have four paddles but feel free to bring your own paddle. Every Sunday from 1-3pm in Emory Hall. Please call Scott Blake at 502-457-9364 for building entrance.

Tai Chi- Tai chi is a practice that involves a series of slow gentle movements and physical postures, a meditative state of mind, and controlled breathing. Classes are free, donations are accepted. Volunteer at Harvey Browne

Harvey’s Helpers- Harvey’s Helpers are a group of mixed aged and mixed skill individuals interested in supporting church projects ranging from painting to minor repairs, landscaping and more. All skill levels welcome. Meets every Monday 9am-12:00pm. Contact Dave Doehnert at kydonut@bellsouth.net

HBPC Caring Visitors- Our faith community has over thirty members who are rarely able to leave their homes. Each has an incredible story, unbelievable history with Harvey Browne Pres, and a whole lot of love, faith and light to share. The HBPC Caring Visitors are paired with these folks at home and attempt to visit each at least once every other month. These are Holy (and fun!) connections, so many precious moments are being shared.
