Christine Coy Fohr- Head Pastor

Christine received her Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology with honors from Rhodes College with research in Disparities in the Integration of Roma People throughout Eastern Europe. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary with research in Contemporary Studies in Ecumenism: Edinburgh 2010 and World Communion of Reformed Churches. She was ordained in 2011. She has worked with Mission Service Recruitment as an intern in the denomination’s World Mission offices, as a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Young Adult Volunteer in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and with South Louisville Ministries. Regionally, she served as Pastoral Associate at First Presbyterian Church in Owensboro, Kentucky, Co-director at JustFaith Ministries, Interim Director of Christian Education and Community Outreach at Highland Presbyterian Church in Louisville, and Consultant for Mission Leaders with Presbyterian World Mission. From 2015 to 2020, she served as Pastor/Head of Staff at First Presbyterian Church, Owensboro.

Christine has a gift for preaching that is sincere and authentic. She loves to preach and is passionate about the sacraments. She is thoughtful and deliberate in shaping worship with a team. Her services are put together holistically, weaving together music, prayer and sermons. She has a gift of creative leadership relating to all ages in the congregation. She has helped start innovative programs, building fellowship and community. She knows how to encourage people that the Spirit can use their gifts even when they might feel uncomfortable about it. Mission has been an important part of Christine’s ministry. She has a heart for mission, knowing best, just practices for doing mission locally and globally.  She is stable and grounded in love. The prevailing fact about all of these gifts is that Christine shares them with grace, dignity and a joyful spirit. She is an intelligent, strong leader.

Christine and her husband, Rob, met on the campus of Louisville Seminary as part of the orientation for the PC(USA)’s Young Adult Volunteer program. Rob and Christine have two daughters. Both girls are a whirlwind of joy to their parents, who love getting to glimpse the world through their children’s eyes.

Paul Huh – Parish Associate

Paul joined the staff of HBPres as parish associate in 2017. He assists in worship and serves as a liaison to the Korean Presbyterian Church. He has degrees in music from Wheaton College, Biola University and Brooklyn Conservatory plus a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and a PhD in liturgical studies from Drew University. Before moving to Louisville, he was an Assistant Professor of Worship and Director of Korean American Ministries at Columbia Theological Seminary. He has taught at a number of other seminaries in the United States and Korea and pastored congregations in New Jersey. Paul and his wife, Clare, have three children.

Terry Hargrave – Directory of Children & Youth Ministry

Terry grew up in South Carolina where she graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology. After graduation, she moved to Louisville to attend The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where she obtained a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education. Upon graduation, she began her career in Christian Education in a PC(USA) church. She served two churches as Director of Christian Education and Youth Ministries before God called her to Harvey Browne in 2017. Terry has been working in the field of Christian Education for more than 25 years. In her free time, she enjoys being with her two children, Stephanie and Michael, as well as spending time in nature. Her favorite place is Montreat, North Carolina.

Larry Brandenburg – Minister of Music

Larry has been Minister of Music at HBPres since August 1997. He is a native of Lexington, Kentucky and a die-hard University of Kentucky fan. He and his wife, Beth, live in Shelbyville, Kentucky on Harmony Fields Farm. They have two sons, Matthew and Nathan. Larry has a Bachelor of Music degree from Campbellsville University, a Master of Music degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has completed all course work for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in conducting from the University of Illinois. Prior to coming to HBPres, Larry served as Minister of Music in churches in Kentucky, Texas and Illinois and was a professor at Midwestern State University, West Texas State University and Georgetown College.

Julie Rousseau – Parents’ Day Out and Nursery Director

Julie is a lifetime member of HBPres. She became a member of the staff in August 2000 as the Director of Parents’ Day Out. She has almost 30 years of experience in early childhood development. Julie owned and operated St. Matthews Preschool for eight years before coming to HBPres. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Georgetown College. In 2009, she became director of the nursery and coordinates all child care needs for the church members. Julie is married and has two adult children.

Tim Baker – Organist/Assistant Director of Music

Tim is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Music and has been part of the HBPres music ministry since 1987. He currently accompanies all choirs and directs the Adult Handbell Choir. Tim performs frequently with various vocal and instrumental ensembles in Louisville and the surrounding region. In addition to assisting several Catholic parishes, he works with local community theater companies as musical director and accompanist.

Beth Brandenburg – Director of Children’s Choirs

Beth has been Director of Children’s Choirs at HBPres since August 1997. She is a retired elementary school music teacher in Louisville. Beth lives in Shelbyville with her husband, Larry. They have two adult sons, Nathan and Matthew. The Brandenburg’s have an organic farm called Harmony Fields Farm.

Cheryl Granger, CCA – Church Administrator

Cheryl moved from the Dayton, Ohio area to Louisville in 2008, when her husband, Dan, was hired by a local company. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology but has been working in the Office/Accounting field since 2001. She was hired as an Administrator Assistant at HBPres in 2011 and became the Church Administrator in 2015. She received her certification as a Certified Church Administrator from The Church Network in 2019. Cheryl and Dan enjoy photography and being outdoors as much as possible and have a passion for traveling.

Samantha Lund – Administrative Assistant

Samantha joined the HBPres staff in January 2019. She was born and raised in rural North Dakota. Her family moved across the country with her husband’s job for a brief time in Clarksville, Tennessee before coming to Louisville. They have two young children. Samantha has a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communication from North Dakota State University and worked in an administrative role in a church previously. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, cooking and going on outdoor adventures with her family.
