Worship Arts

Welcome to Worship Arts! At Harvey Browne, we envision Worship Arts as a place where creativity builds community, and collaboration deepens faith.

We believe worship is not a performance for a few, but the shared work of a community offering gifts, voices, and imagination to God. Through music, visual art, movement, drama, and storytelling, we create, grow, belong, and discover God’s presence among us with curiosity, joy, and wonder.

Chancel Choir

The chancel choir meets each Wednesday from 7-8pm as well as in the mornings on Sundays and sings most Sundays during the programing year. In addition to this, the “summer choir” (anyone who is in town and would like to sing that Sunday) gathers during the months of June, July and August at 9:30 to practice and learn that day’s anthem. For more information about the Chancel Choir, speak with Megan or Ben Durham.

Handbells

The Handbell Choir rehearses each Wednesday from 6:00–7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary and rings several times throughout the program year. The group performs using five octaves of Schulmerich handbells and five octaves of Schulmerich handchimes. Those interested in joining as a permanent or substitute ringer are invited to reach out to Mark Wood.

Mosaic

Mosaic is a community where children explore faith through the arts, build friendships, and cultivate belonging through creativity. This group also meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 as well as Wednesdays at 6pm.

Wonder

Youth Worship Arts is a space to wonder, create, express, and belong. Through music, art, movement, writing, and drama, middle-high school students explore faith and make space for the questions, emotions, and experiences that shape their lives.

Instrumentalists

Instrumentalists in the congregation are invited to participate in worship in a variety of ways throughout the program year. Harvey Browne’s volunteer orchestra plays several times throughout the year, with additional opportunities for solo and small-ensemble music as well as opportunities for keyboard musicians to play the piano, organ, and/or harpsichord. For more information about sharing your instrumental gifts during worship, speak to Chris Harbeson-Borgelt.
