On Wednesday, October 7, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., we will welcome Dr. Renee Maltinaa Ann Campbell to Harvey Browne for a special presentation about her grandmother, Mrs. Ada Doss Campbell, whose life was tragically cut short in 1940 within Kentucky’s troubled mental health system.
Dr. Campbell brings more than 40 years of experience in education, social work, mental health, community development, and advocacy. Through her grandmother’s story, she invites us to listen to a voice from the past and consider the ways stories, music, memory, and history continue to shape our understanding of justice and human dignity.
Dr. Campbell will also share about Song Week, an upcoming celebration of song and storytelling that will feature her grandmother’s story through music and conversation.
Come hear a story that has been carried across generations– and consider what it might still have to say to us today.
