What can I expect if I visit on a Sunday morning?
On Sunday mornings at HBPres, you can expect to meet people striving to be disciples, making a difference.
Upon entering the foyer just outside the sanctuary, you will find the welcome center with greeters to welcome you and answer any questions you might have. Take a minute to grab a cup of coffee from the coffee cove and relax on the foyer’s couches and chairs, a beloved spot for fellowship for all ages.
You will find people dressed in both casual and business casual clothes. Come as you are, dressed in whatever way is most comfortable for you on a Sunday morning, whether that’s Sunday best or relaxed. The culture of HBPres is as varied as its members.
The sanctuary is accessible via stairs or elevator. Just before entering the sanctuary, you will be greeted by an usher, given a bulletin (a road map for the service), and have any questions answered. Hearing enhancement devices as well as worship bags for children are available outside the doors to the sanctuary. Prior to the start of the service, you will find people chatting and catching up with one another.
Though we are not a formal congregation, our worship service is in a traditional in style. It consists of music, prayer, scripture reading, preaching, and monthly communion. Sunday worship typically lasts 60 minutes.
Before Sunday morning worship, from 9:30 to 10:15 am, Sunday School classes are offered for children, teenagers, and adults.
For families with little ones, the nursery is available during worship as well as during Sunday School. Infants, toddlers, and preschool age children are cared for by loving nursery staff who have been background checked and trained.
Is childcare available during worship?
Children are fully welcome in worship. Please do not worry if your child makes noise or gets the wiggles! They are an important part of our church community. Wiggle bags and books are available just outside the sanctuary entrance. Our nursery is open for children ages 3 and under during worship. After the “Time with Young Disciples,” kindergarten and under may leave for activities. The room to the left of the pulpit is a cry/wiggle room for when children or caregivers need to move around or have a good cry.
May I take communion if I am not a member?
Just as Jesus welcomed everyone to follow him, so, too, does he welcome all to the table. Whether young or old, members or visitors, all are invited to take communion at Harvey Browne.
How do I become a member?
