Kristy and Jim are both Hoosiers born and raised and are unabashedly proud Purdue Boilermaker graduates. Jim graduated in Communication while Kristy graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. They moved to Louisville in 1987 with their two young children, where Jim received his Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. Jim served for ten years as the seminary’s Director of Admissions, followed by time with the PCUSA Center, and on to many professional years involving the automobile business (Some have called him the Car Rev – it’s quite a story!).
Kristy stayed busy and fulfilled with raising their children, volunteer and other involvements, until she shifted to over 20 years of professional work including as a teacher with the Highland Presbyterian Weekday school, Director of Member Care at Highland Presbyterian Church, primarily focused on older adult ministries, Stephen Ministries and care coordination. She later worked for Presbyterian Homes of Louisville, and as Marketing Director for Miralea & Meadow at Masonic Homes of KY for several years. She is an ordained Ruling Elder.
Whether meeting with folks about cars, sharing in worship, or supporting families making major moves, for Jim and Kristy it has always been ministry. They feel clearly called to this new opportunity of care at Harvey Browne Presbyterian Church. Some might call it serendipity or a “God wink…” The timing feels just right. They are grateful and excited to see how they might be able to draw from their experiences and share in this new place and time.
They start nearly every day with an early morning walk with Gabriel, their angel dog. Both love singing, music and being outdoors. They are proud parents of adult children and are delighting in their grandson.
